HEALTH



I wanted to understand the secrets to being healthy and losing weight. I interviewed ~50 people who have lost a cumulative of 1000s of pounds to discover their secrets. Not surprisingly there were six main ethos that allowed people to lose weight and keep it off. I put a link to the podcast on Anchor up above!

I also created a 6-month weight loss program I will put below that anyone can do to build the habits that help people sustain weight loss.

WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM

MONTH 1: Count Calories

MONTH 2: Analyze what you drink. It's best to drink water since it isn't full of sugar.

MONTH 3: Analyze how much food you eat, and how you feel. You should be able to go on a walk or slight jog after you eat. This ensures you aren't over eating which only leads to feeling lethargic and tired like you do on Thanksgiving Day. This lethargicness occurs because your stomach takes a lot of energy to digest food. I recommend eating half of what you usually eat while falling in love with the feeling you get from eating appropriate amounts of food. This is the key to weight loss as you can't outwork a bad diet. 

MONTH 4: Fasting until noon and eating 2 meals per day.

MONTH 5: Start working out 5-10 minutes a day either running or walking.


MONTH 6: Analyze the different types of foods you eat. I recommend eating a low carbohydrate ketogenic diet as the best way to burn fat for energy. I love this analogy to explain burning sugar vs fat. Sugar burns like newspaper in a fire while fat burns like a log in a fire. We call burning sugar a "sugar high" that last for a short amount of time. While burning fat gives you a steady amount of energy that lasts the whole afternoon and keeps you going through out your day. Some foods I recommend are salads, proteins, nuts.
